Jul. 2012 Toyota Motor East Japan was born through a merger of three companies: Kanto Auto Works,
Central Motor and Toyota Motor Tohoku.
Aug. Production of Porte and SPADE started.
Dec. Miyagi Taiwa the third Plant completed. Production of Engine started.
Mar. 2013 Wakayanagi Plant closed.
Equipment Development building completed.
Toyota East Japan Technical Skills Academy completed.
Aug. Production of COROLLA Axio HYBRID and COROLLA FIELDER HYBRID started.
Feb. 2014 Cumulative production of 20 million vehicles recorded.
May. KANJIKO DO BRASIL wins the highest in Brazil of the ISO environmental standards evaluation.
June. 2015 Production of SIENTA started.

History of Kanto Auto Works

Apr. 1946 Kanto Electric Motor Works, Ltd. established.
Sep. Began operation in the present-day Taura region. This day (September 14, 1946) is the anniversary of our founding.
Dec. 1948 Received orders for Toyopet bodies from Toyota Motor Corporation.
May 1950 Company name changed to Kanto Auto Works, Ltd. as is called today.
Mar. 1961 Yokosuka plant completed.
Oct. 1966 "Deming Prize"for Quality Control awarded.
May 1967 Completed construction of Higashi-Fuji Plant (F201)
Sep. 1968 Higashi Fuji Plant completed.
Mar. 1970 Cumulative production of 1 million vehicles recorded.
Nov. 1974 Production of Marine Containers started.
Apr. 1975 Production of Sailing Boats started.
Sep. Production of Furniture started.
Dec. Production of Toyota Office (prefabricated buildings) started.
Apr. 1977 Production of Toyota Home (prefabricated houses) started.

Aug. 1991 Home Manufacturing Division expands to the Yamanashi Office of Toyota Motor Corporation; ended production at Yokosuka Plant (Taura region). 8,020 buildings and 62,698 units produced thus far.
Nov. 1993 Iwate Plant completed.
Nov. 1994 Cumulative production of 10 million vehicles recorded.
Sep. 1996 The ceremony of the 50th anniversary establishment held.
Oct. Kanto Auto Works Vision toward the year 2005 "Searching for a new era" proclaimed.
Dec. 1997 Iwate plant attained certification, in accordance with ISO 14001 of the International Standard of Enviromental Management Systems, on December 1997.
Oct. 1998 Higashi Fuji plant attained certification, in accordance with ISO 14001 of the International Standard of Enviromental Management Systems, on October 1998.
Nov. Yokosuka plant and Head office regions attained certification, in accordance with ISO 14001 of the International Standard of Enviromental Management Systems, on November 1998.
Apr. 2000 Integrated Central Motor Co., Ltd. and the Development Division.
Dec. Iwate plant attained first re-certification, in accordance with ISO 14001, on December 2000.
Mar. 2001 Tecnical Center attained certification, in accordance with ISO 14001 of the International Standard of Enviromental Management Systems, on November 1998.
Oct. Higashi Fuji plant attained first re-certification, in accordance with ISO 14001, on October 2001.
Nov. Yokosuka region attained first re-certification, in accordance with ISO 14001, on November 2001.
Apr. 2003 Completed construction of the Satellite Shop, Iwate Plant.
Nov. Yokosuka region and Technical Center obtained integrated ISO14001 certification.
Feb. 2004 Cumulative production of 13 million vehicles recorded.
Oct. All company integration attestation of ISO14001 was acquired., on October 2004.

Nov. 2005 Completion of 2nd line at the Iwate Plant.
